Biosolutions: European production estimated at €132bn in 2035 (ADC/Novonesis)

778bn by 2035, and 4.5m jobs across the sector and its value chains worldwide: these are the estimated figures established in the report "The Value of Biosolutions: Growth and Prosperity to 2035 - European Edition", compiled by ADC (Amsterdam Data Collective) at the request of Novonesis, a biotech company specialising in enzymes, and published on 06/07/2025.

This edition, which is part of a wider series, presents global data and offers a targeted analysis of Europe, with specific data for Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Spain and the UK. For the EU and UK combined, the biosolutions industry represents an estimated €66.9bn of on-site production, supporting 313,000 jobs. The report's projections suggest a potential doubling of the total value of production to €132bn by 2035, and the support of around 620,000 jobs across the biosolutions industry as a whole.
