EU/Future CAP: "A need to reward the farmers who have the right practices" (M. Rascali, Birdlife)

"The CAP has to be restructured to reward the farmers who are implementing and having the right practices on the field, who help nature and provide ecosystem services, and who stop pollute the environment. This reward should go further than rewarding the simple respect the environmental legislation, but for those who go a step beyond", says Marinda Rascali, Agricultural and Land Use Policy Officer at Birdlife Europe, during a joint press briefing on 10/07/2025.

On 16/07/2025, the European Commission will announce the future of the CAP (Common Agricultural Policy) after 2027 and the MFF (Multi-Financial Framework). The first meeting of the Danish Presidency's Agricultural and Fisheries Council will also take place on 14/07/2025, giving a roadmap for the next six months. On 10/07/2025, NGOs WWF EU, Greenpeace Europe, the European Environmental Bureau and Birdlife Europe held a press briefing to share their hopes and alerts on the future of the CAP.
