Sustainable Aviation fuel: partnership between Cavac and the Dubreuil group (France)

Cavac and the Dubreuil group are launching an experimental project for the production of Biojet, a plant-based aviation fuel (SAF) to meet the challenges of decarbonising air transport, they announced on 07/07/2025.

" Made from oilseeds, Biojet will make it possible to test a local, practical solution to help decarbonise air transport and open up a new, forward-looking agricultural sector with multiple benefits for farmers", say the two groups.

The Cavac cooperative group will encourage its members to grow so-called "early double-crop" varieties of oilseeds (sunflower, camelina, etc.). These are sown at the end of June, immediately after the harvest of cereal crops, without affecting food production. These plants grow for 90 days, then are harvested and crushed. The extracted oil is then delivered to an oil company, which produces the final biofuel, Biojet.
