"It's not a good thing to say that we're not going to do any more renewable energies in our country, that we're not going to invest any more. We need to do both nuclear and renewable and not caricature everything. Bruno Retailleau, in an article published in Le Figaro with two leaders of the LR party, calls for an end to public subsidies for wind power and photovoltaic energy. "When our country finances the construction of renewable energies, it uses French taxpayers' money to subsidise our neighbours' electricity consumption, while imposing intermittent production on our grid that destabilises our installed capacity.
