EP/EU 2040 climate target: "flexibility cannot become a backdoor for deregulation" (A. Decaro, S&D)

"The stakes are very high. Every tonne of CO₂ emitted today compromises our future. This is why Parliament is ready to play its part, in a constructive spirit and with a sense of responsibility. On 02/07/2025, the European Commission proposed an updated version of the European Climate Law, adding some flexibility measures to its reduction target of 90% GHG emissions by 2040.
