EU Social Climate Fund: only Sweden submitted its SCP, project might be postponed (Commission)

"The deadline to return their National Social Climate Plans was on 30/06/2025, so we encourage the Member States to submit their SCF plans. Until now, we have only received one formally, from Sweden. Several Member States submitted their drafts and now we are waiting for the others", announces the Commission in a press briefing on 01/07/2025.

"Together with a mandatory 25% contribution of the Member States to their Social Climate Plans, the SCF should mobilise at least € 86.7 B of public funding over the 2026-2032 period", planned the Commission, prior to this announcement.

"We wanted to have the fund up from the beginning of the next year, in 2026, to pursue up to 2032. The evaluation of the plans by the Commission takes five months. If we don’t have them soon, the work on this project needs to be postponed", declares the Commission.
