81% of French people in favor of the promotion of SAF production (survey)

81% of French people believe it is essential for the public authorities to encourage the emergence of a French and European sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) industry. This is one of the findings of the survey on the French and sustainable aviation, carried out by Infopro Digital for TotalEnergies and L'Usine Nouvelle, a copy of which was obtained by News Tank on 19/06/2025. In addition, 72% of those surveyed believe that Europe should speed up the deployment of SAFs.

TotalEnergies announced on 16/06/2025 that it would be able to produce half a million tonnes of SAF a year from 2028. The Group will thus be able to supply more than 10% of the jet fuel it markets in Europe.


According to the study, 62% of French people would accept an increase in ticket prices to travel with aircraft using sustainable fuel. 94% of these would accept an increase of less than 10%, 4% an increase of more than 10%, and 2% are undecided.
