Danish Presidency of the EU from 01/07 to 31/12/2025: economic growth and green transition as priorities

Denmark will hold the Presidency of the Council of the European Union from 01/07 to 31/12/2025.

Its priorities include economic growth and competitiveness, in particular through European integration in strategic sectors such as energy, and green transition, according to Marie Bjerre, the Danish Minister for European Affairs, who presented a first vision of the priorities of the Danish Presidency of the Council of the EU to the Austrian Parliament on 08/05/2025.

"Denmark is taking the wheel of the EU at a time of war on our continent, global trade tensions and economic pressure. Security, sustainability and competitiveness are its priorities. From strengthening our defence to cutting red tape for businesses, from energy security to digital leadership, Europe must act. I look forward to working with the Danish Presidency to deliver results," said Roberta Metsola, President of the European Parliament, at the Conference of Presidents in Copenhagen (Denmark) on 03/06/2025.
