Opening of the June Climate Meetings (SB 62) in Bonn to prepare the COP 30 in Bélem

From 16 to 26/06/2025, UNFCCC Subsidiary Bodies meet at the seat of the secretariat in Bonn (Germany) to shape the agenda and inform decisions at COP30.

"At a time when the world needs a really clear signal that the climate agenda is on course, there is a global intent to close that ambition and implementation gap", declares Simon Stiell, UN Climate Change Executive Secretary, ahead of the June Climate Meetings.

Key issues of these 10-day discussions include:

- Adaptation to climate change: global goals, review of progress, studies on impacts
- Mitigation ambitions and implementation
- Climate finance and budgets
- Transparency (via transparency reports)
- Methodological framework and indicators

Subsidiary Bodies include the SB for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA) and the SB for Implementation (SBI). These two permanent committees of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) work together to support and implement the commitments of the Kyoto Protocol and the Paris Agreement.
