Call for contributions for the future European strategy on nuclear fusion until 01/07/2025

The European Commission's Directorate-General for Energy launches a 4-week call for evidence to draw up EU's first fusion strategy.

Researchers, industry, start-ups and private investors are invited to take part in the consultation until 01/07/2025.

The aim of the Commission is to release an official strategy by the end of 2025. The future strategy will have to define a path towards a pilot fusion power plant, create a competitive industrial ecosystem and strengthen the participation of the private sector through public-private partnerships and new funding.

"The Draghi report on EU competitiveness recommends developing an overarching EU innovation strategy for nuclear fusion energy to promote its rapid, economically viable commercialization. This strategy is being developed in consultation with leading fusion experts, industry and other fusion stakeholders to achieve economically viable fusion power plants connected to a grid", says the European Commission.
